Privacy Policy

This policy explains what KnowMyQuote does with the documents you upload and the personal data we process when you use the service.

Who we are

KnowMyQuote (“we”, “us”) provides an online service that reviews and compares contractor quotations. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us at hello@knowmyquote.com.

What we process

  • Documents you upload. The PDF quotations you submit, and the text extracted from them. These may contain names, addresses and pricing relating to you or a contractor.
  • Report data. The findings generated from your documents.
  • Feedback. Any rating or comment you submit through “Help us improve”.
  • Technical data. Aggregate usage and device information used to keep the service reliable.

Why we process it

We process your documents to perform the review or comparison you have asked for — this is necessary to perform our contract with you. We process technical and feedback data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving a reliable service.

How long we keep it

Uploaded documents and the reports produced from them are retained only for as long as needed to deliver and support your report, and are then deleted. Feedback is retained in aggregate form. You may ask us to delete your data at any time.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host and operate the platform on our behalf, under contract and only to the extent needed to run the service, and where we are legally required to do so.

Your rights

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct data that is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

To exercise any of these, email hello@knowmyquote.com.

Security

Documents are transferred over encrypted connections and access is restricted to the systems and staff that need it. No online service can promise absolute security, and you should avoid uploading documents containing information you do not need reviewed.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above.
